Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Central NJ Basement Remodel ("we," "us") collects through https://centralnjbasementremodel.com, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It is part of our Terms of Service.

1. Information We Collect

• Information you give us: your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, and a short description of the work you need, and, if you choose to answer, your project timeline, budget range, and whether you own the home.
• Project context: the service and town of the page you submitted from.
• Consent records: the fact that you checked the consent box, the exact consent wording you were shown, and the date and time you submitted.
• Technical information: your IP address, browser and device type (user agent), the page you submitted from, the first page you visited (including any campaign parameters in its web address), and the referring website.

2. How We Use It

• To refer your request to an independent local contractor and to contact you about your project.
• To keep records of your consent and of each referral, including for billing the contractor.
• To prevent spam and fraud, keep the Site secure, and comply with law.
• To understand how the Site is used and improve it.

3. Sharing With a Contractor and Others

When you submit a request, we share your contact information and project details with an independent contractor so they can contact you about your project. The contractor may receive this information in exchange for a fee paid to us. Once shared, the contractor's use of your information is governed by that contractor's own practices, not this policy.

We also share information with:

• Service providers that operate the Site for us, such as hosting, database, email, and spam-prevention providers (including Cloudflare), who may use it only to provide services to us.
• Authorities or other parties when required by law, to respond to legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of us, our users, or others.
• A buyer or successor if our business is sold or transferred.

We do not sell your information to data brokers or share it with anyone for unrelated marketing.

4. How Long We Keep It

We keep request and consent records for 5 years from the date you submit, so that we can show what you agreed to and document each referral, and then delete or de-identify them. We may keep information longer if required by law or needed to resolve a dispute. Spam-prevention and server logs are kept for shorter periods set by our service providers.

5. Your Choices: Opt-Out and Deletion

• Text messages: reply STOP to any text to opt out.
• Calls and email: email privacy@centralnjbasementremodel.com or tell the caller you want to opt out. We will stop contacting you and ask the contractor we shared your request with to do the same.
• Access, correction, and deletion: email privacy@centralnjbasementremodel.com to request a copy of your information, correct it, or delete it. We will respond within 45 days. We may keep a minimal record of your consent and opt-out so we can honor your request and meet legal obligations. A contractor who already received your request must be contacted directly to delete their copy; we will forward your deletion request to them.
• New Jersey residents may have additional rights under the New Jersey Data Privacy Act, including the right to opt out of the sale of personal data and targeted advertising. To exercise them, email privacy@centralnjbasementremodel.com. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response.

6. Cookies and Analytics

We use Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated spam on our request form. It runs when you interact with the form and may process technical signals from your browser. We remember the first page of your visit in your browser's session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab, so we know how you found us.

We may use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics or Cloudflare Web Analytics, to measure visits and form submissions. Some of these tools set cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on. We will update this section to list the specific tools we use.

7. Security and Children

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. The Site is meant for adults, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.

8. Changes and Contact
